CORE BELIEFS AND VALUES CEF’s core beliefs and values support its mission and drive our theory of transformation:
All children have the right to a quality education. This education should be in accordance with The Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Convention on the Rights of the Child mandates that “All children have the right to a primary education, which should be free…The Convention places a high value on education. Young people should be encouraged to reach the highest level of education of which they are capable.” (Article 28).
All children have the ability to learn and excel.
All children have the potential to succeed, if given the proper access to necessary tools. Children with special needs whether gifted or challenged should be accommodated accordingly.
Educated children can transform the economic and social landscape of any nation.
CEF believes there is a high correlation between the percentage of meaningfully educated children in any community and the following achievements: becoming a productive member of society, achieving economic prosperity, changing familial poverty cycles, creating businesses that provide jobs to local populations, engaging in civil, social and cultural activities that advance the society and reducing participation in crimes and violent activities.
